|
|
It started off like any other Friday. I dropped my youngest daughter off at school and went to my mum's for a coffee. We decided to go to Beverley so I could pic up eldest daughter's France photo's and get some last minute picnic bits from Tesco for our day out to The Forbidden Corner for Chloe's birthday the next day.
Did all that and took the stuff back to the car, then realised the girls needed some ballet tights for their dance show this coming weekend. On our way back into town we got stopped by this couple outside the registry office who asked us if we'd be witnesses at their wedding at two o'clock (it was half one at this point) We agree'd to do it, and after nipping to get the ballet tights we headed back to the registry office and went to a wedding lmao! It's got to be the most odd thing that's happened to me that I can think off. We didn't even know their names until the wedding was about to start.
The worst part came afterwards when they had some photo's taken and we ended up having to be in them. So there was me in my tatty jeans and Fraggle Rock tee, no makeup on looking like a bag of shit half drenched with rain having to smile on this wedding picture! Lovely!! It's a good story though and they were so grateful that it makes it worth it. They said their families didn't even know they were getting married!!
Later on that night I had a power cut at my house. The electricity went off at 3.50pm, and didn't come back on until 2.50am. We were without power for 11 hours! I never realised how much I took the tv and computer forgranted. What a boring ass night it was trying to find stuff to do until bed time!! Luckily our laptop had enough charge in the battery that we were able to watch Barbie - 12 Dancing Princesses!!! I say lucky........

Definately not lucky - still I suppose it kept your daughter quiet
Your Friday was certainly more eventful then mine - work, gym, eat, sleep
You'll be tellign the witness story for some time to come, more than likely something that not many others you speak to will have done (although there's always one who's done it better - it probably happened to them in Vegas!!)
Out of interest, how old were the couple? |

| I'm not entirely sure. Somewhere in their 30's I think. I'm 31, well I am for the next couple of weeks lol, and they looked older than me. |

| I was just wondering if you helped some love struck teens to get married at the wrath of their parents..... |

| Nope, not teenages, but I think there may be parental wrath involved because they said none of their families knew..... |

Ha! How bizarre. "So what did you do for lunch today?" "Oh, you know, got married, had a sandwich....." lol!
I have to say though the ceremony was awesome. It was over in about 10 minutes. Do you, yes. Do you, yes. I now pronounce you...blabla. That's got to be the way to do it!!! |

That sounds a pretty decent friday to be honest, at least you'll remember it for a while aswell.
Saw my Grandparents and then went out for a curry with some mates to celebrate their birthday. Thats easily beaten. |

You know what though? That's exactly what me and Hubby Did!
We couldn't be botrhered with all the stupid family arguments taking away from OUR day, so we asked two random people . . . 16 years later, we're still together! |

16 years later - just how old are you Lou?
I put you younger than me (by your pic) but you can't be given the age that you have to be to marry.... |
