I'm always on the lookout for new books!

Right now I'm reading Jodi Picoult's 'Nineteen Minutes' which is about the aftermath of a highschool shooting.

Anyone read her books?  They're very good.

I havent read anything since the last Harry Potter book which is soo bad!
My friends are into a book callled "Twilight" by Stephanie Meyer which is the first of a trilogy so I'm going to borrow it off one and read it next week. I'd never heard of it until recently but apparently its quite big in America and they're bringing a film out later this year of it. Anyone read or heard of it?

I might try that 19 minutes book then, the high-schools shootings fascinate me for some reason. (not in a good way)

I'm reading a book (well I say that but I haven't picked it up for about a week lol) by Kathy Reichs. It's about the character that the 'Bones' tv series is based on. I've read a couple of her other books about the same character too and they're really good. I tend to only read when I go to bed, which is stupid really because if I'm going through a tired period I flake out as soon as I climb in so don't read any for ages then forget what's happened so far when I next pick it up and have to go back a few pages lol!

The First Casualty-Ben Elton

Only 40 pages in but it has grabbed my attention. Got to read it for A2 English Literature though so its against my free will.

Also reading, Journeys End-A play by a RC Sheriff I think. Also reading that for A2 English Lit and it has also grabbed my attention early on.

this forum....!!!!

I don't really do much reading except on Sun holidays (which I've not had for 2 years).

I'd like to do it more (as I enjoy it when I do) but can't find the time.

I've been enjoying the Dan Brown books when I was reading

You should check out The Pact - its my favourite of hers along with My Sisters Keeper.

Nineteen minutes is ok so far, but dragging along a bit as there's a lot of technical stuff/court cases etc.  (or maybe thats just the bit I'm at).

A few of my friends are obsessed with this book, and the main male character!  I thought it was geared towards a younger audience, but the people I know who've read it say that it'll appeal to all ages, and its meant to be very good.

^ I only just noticed this post. I'm also obbessed with the main male character haha....he's amazinggg!

Have you read it?

The fourth one comes out today or this week and I'm about 2/3s through the Eclipse which is the third. Can't wait to read the last one!

Oo and have your heard about one called Midnight Sun (I think!). Its Twilight but told in Edwards point of view......I think that will be really good.

^ Yes, I'm in love with Edward Cullen too.  I think everyone falls in love with him.  Since my first post, I've read all three books, and I've pre-ordered the new one, Breaking Dawn from Amazon.  I can't wait for the movie, and I think Robert Pattinson looks great as Edward.

The first chapter of Midnight Sun is posted on Stephenie Meyer's website.

I  have to ask - do you understand why anybody would pick Jacob over Edward?  Apparently some people prefer Jacob to Edward.  How????

I finally managed to finish that Kathy Reichs book I mentioned a while ago, and I'm now reading 'A Brother's Story' by Richard Peltzer. He's the brother of Dave who wrote the 'Child Called It' series. They make for harrowing reading, given the utterly brutal nature of the abuse at the hands of their mother. I've only just started reading Richards tale, so I don't know a great deal about what she did to him yet, but the way she treated David and the things she did/made him do are just shockingly horrid.

Does Breaking Dawn come out tomorrow?

Yeh I also think Robert Pattinson will be good as Edward as he has a sort of weird vampirish look about him....and I also think he's very good looking!

Oooo I'll go and read that on the website in a minute!

You know what.....I've actually recently deveopled a soft spot for Jacob and a tiny part of me would like it if she did suddenly just dump Edward for him! But I do still loveeeee Edward and I am glad she is with him over Jacob.
