Berbatov to leave...?

Quote:
"Fans must understand Dimitar is 27 next month and time is running out for him to play for a club that can match his ambition.

"I would like to stress this is not about money. This is about sporting ambition.

"But after Tottenham's bad start to the season, it is unlikely they will have the chance to do something big this season."

Looks like he doesn't want to stay or it's his agent trying to stir things up. If what his agent said is what Berbatov thinks, then i think he should be told to go for the best of the club. No need to have players who think they are "too big" for the club.

And everytime there is a transfer window looming, he seems to be on form...

Didn't he start off with a bad start, towards December/late December he picks up form and scores 4 goals, interesting. I think Chelsea will bid for him, i don't think we will as we have Tevez but i guess Fergie should consider all of the possible options.

I think that Ramos will try and do whatever he can to keep him. They are much better going forward now and once he plugs the gap in defence they could go on a serious run.

Berbatov is a class act and from what I have seen the only thing missing is pace. Players of his ability will always be on managers wish lists and talked about when the transfer window opens. And yes he always seem to pick up before the transfer window, coincidence? Probably not.
Ramos will do everything he can to keep him but if another team is serious and offer a good sum of money then the Tottenham board will have  decision to make.

I have no time for Berbatov.  People think he's great for Spurs, I don't think so - he has no heart, and he will never fight for the team.  Also, I'm sick of these stories from him saying he wants to leave.  He's such a whinger!

Im still not convinced by Berbatov. He is guarenteed a starting spot at Spurs but at the top 4 clubs that isnt a guarantee for him. His goal ratio and work rate just dont convince me that he is as good as the media make him out to be.

I think he would be guaranteed a starting place at Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool and may also force himself into the starting line-up at United but those three clubs are crying out for a player of his calibure. He does come across as a bit of a moany bastard but he is certainly a very talented players. He kind of reminds me of Eric Cantona. I'd love to see him at United fighting it out for a place with Tevez and Rooney.

Not too sure about guaranteed place at Liverpool with Rafa's rotation-policy tbh.

And Berbatov IMO wouldn't fit into the style of play of Chelski, United or Liverpool. Arsenal suits him better, but Wenger won't sign him. He'll have to move abroad for a club that matches his (or his agents) ambitions.

Well he would be a starter in the big games at Liverpool, he would be part of there strongest eleven.

I think he would fit in at Chelsea. They play with one up top because Avram Grant has inherited Mourinho's team and hasn't had the chance to bring in personnel to change that.

Didier Drogba is injured at the moment and if he recovers soon he will be off to the African Cup of Nations so I'm positive they'll buy a top quality striker in the window with a view to him starting alongside Drogba once he returns.

If he really wanted to leave then i would have expected more from him today, i think he is like Anelka, lazy, and knows he is good enough not to put 100% in every week and still get into a team.

But when you say you want to find a bigger club, with managers like SAF then you will need to show more commitment to the game, and show some livelyness, he obviously has the talent to be at any club, but the attitude??
sandz

7.Ronaldo, what about Shevchenko and Pizaro there not tooo bad with good midfielders around them. I feel any striker they buy could be to replace Drogba in the summer.
7.Ronaldo

Claudio Pizzaro hasn't got going yet and the fans are starting to get on his back. I don't see him being there at the start of next season. Certainly not someone who can be relied upon to produce if Chelsea want to mount a championship challenge. It's the same with Shevchenko. He's inconsistent at times although he's improved a lot in the last few weeks. He struggles a lot when he's asked to play as a lone striker.
cosmicrichie

If Chelski don't buy Anelka in January I'll run down Southend high street with my pants wrapped around my head

Berbatov is a strange one. There were many matches in the beginning of the season where he appeared to not give a shit and it is very frustrating because then you see some of his performances in December and scratch your head because he looks like the best striker in the league. No doubt he has bags of class but he definitely has some attitude issues as Penny said. in the end though I wouldn't want him to go anywhere because on his day he can turn a game.
jimmyq

I thought he was awful against Villa. He showed some nice touches around the edge fo the box but was generally hanging around the half way line, shoulders slumped, jogging around, disinterested. Get rid I say and coin it in. Ramos will get a spurs old boy back in the shape of that French geeza who's name escapes me.....Kannoute, that's the fella, from valencia.
clevelandspur

^ Spot on Jimmy! He was absolutely useless against you guys. that is the kind of performance which is puzzling. He was lazy, sulking and not willing to work. Then against City when he was lone striker I think it was his best performance for the club, he was running for days and holding up play superbly.

I am leaning towards just saying the hell with him but I would prefer to get him out of the league. It does bother me when a teamatte misses a pass to him and he yells or drops his head at them. it can't be good for chemistry
AlexH

Apparently Spurs are asking for £35 Million for him. Anyone willing to pay that deserves to be shot. He is worth £20 Million maximum I think.
clevelandspur

^ Well if you consider Darren Bent was worth 18 maybe he is worth 35!  laugh
jimmyq

^ Good shout!! What a nightmare deal that was.
AlexH

Bent needs to be the focal point of a team, he'd be more than welcome at Fulham!

I still dont get what is so great about Berbatov.........
