Book RecommendationsWell some may be shocked to know this but probably the only productive thing I did over my break was read a book. It was called "A Long Way Gone" by Ishmael beah. It was absolutely fabulous, I read it in one day and could not put it down.
It is a true story by Beah about his accounts of the Sierra Leone civil war and his experiences as a child soldier.
So I am looking for another good read. Anybody know of anything?

The latest fiction I read was Jodi Picoults The Pact which is about a teenage suicide pact . It was really good, but I don't know if you'd like it. I think her books are geared more towards women. I read it straight through though - it was a really good read. Then I got another of her books and it's just boring!

^ You know I think i prefer non-fiction for the most part. lol I act like I am experienced this is the first real book I have read in ages! But now I have the itch. Didn't Di mention a book about Gazza or something that was good?

I prefer non-fiction too, usually autobiographies. Did you read Anthony Kiedis' bio? That's good! The latest one I read was about Supergroupies and their Rockstar lovers. Might be a bit much for you to handle, Bry! lol!

May i recommend the Patti Boyd Biography it is a brilliant read Penny. And im getting Marianne Faithful's next and that should be interesting again.
I like Teacher Teacher by Jack Sheffield such a comic and lighthearted book that i GUARANTEE you wont be able to put down.
I have all the Adrian Mole books as well and am so disappointed Sue Townsend isnt writing another although she is going blind so its not suprising.

^ Mike, the Patti Boyd book is next on my list! I'm planning to buy it next time I'm in town. It sounds like a great book. I've read Marianne's book, and it is such a good read. One of my favourites.

I recommend 'A Child Called It' by David Peltzer. It's the story of his horrific childhood and the abuse he suffered at the hands of his mother. He also wrote 2 follow on books that are excellent. 'The Lost Boy' and 'A Man Named Dave'

Personally I haven't read many non fictional/biographies but I can recommend Super's sentiments about Phillip Pullmans 'His Dark Trilogy'. Superb trio of books and I cant wait to see the movie of the first book.
But my favourite author is Jefferey Deaver, Devils Teardrop and Coffin Dancer, both nothing short of brilliant.
