Cohen: 'I will never play Borat or Ali G again'Is Borat the movie actually any good? Some people have told me its terrible, while some find it hilarious - very mixed reviews. Its seems like the kind of movie you either love or hate. I've never really seen Ali G either - I guess I just kind of missed out on it all.
It makes sense that he can never play the characters again though - I mean, pretty much everybody knows them now.
His new project sounds like a hoot!
| Quote: | Sacha Baron Cohen has claimed that he will never play his characters Borat or Ali G on screen ever again because they have become too well known.
The comedian explained that it is now more difficult to trick people into appearing in sketches due to the characters' increased fame.
Cohen said: "It is like saying goodbye to a loved one. It is hard, and the problem with success, although it’s fantastic, is that every new person who sees the Borat movie is one less person I can ‘get’ again. But the success has been great, better than anything I dreamed of."
He added: "When I was being Ali G and Borat I was in character sometimes 14 hours a day, and I came to love them, so admitting I am never going to play them again is a sad thing.
"It’s much easier for me to be in character, and it’s a lot more fun. If I’d done the entire promotional campaign for Borat as myself, it wouldn’t have developed in the same way."
The star is now working on making a new movie based on his gay fashion reporter character Bruno.

Borat is overrated. It's quite funny but I wouldn't say it was the comedy version of The Godfather. He was apparently supposed to make a movie with his camp Austrian character, can't remember the name of him.
Anyway, you should watch Ali G at Harvard on youtube, it's amazingly funny!

I was so sad to hear this I love both characters but as he said everyone knows them now. The Borat movie was hilarious I thought but the Ali G one wasn't up to par with his skits on the show.
Bruno is the weakest of the three characters of his but he could make it work, I will be tuning in surely.
