Euro 2008 - who are you rooting for?Well, I'm Italy all the way as usual. As I mentioned on Lou's forum, I'm gutted Cannavaro is out. That is a big blow for Italy, and I don't think they'll win this time round.
I've always liked to watch Portugal too, and I like Holland.
Don't like Germany, although I have a feeling they might win this one.

Well i have Spain in the sweepstakes at work so will be rooting for them and i also want those Crazy Dutch to win as i love the Orange shirts lol and my old Peterborough United shirt means i can blend in well with their fans in the pub!

I absolutely hate Italy. If I had to root for someone it'd be Germany as I lived there for a bit although I would like to see the Czech Republic win.

I just checked the results of qualifying matches in wikipedia .. 3 loses (Croatia(2) & Russia) ... but the most strange result was 0-0 against Macedonia @home
England is one of the best teams in Europe I think and it could be much better if they were in Euro-08 
Now the coach is Capello and he's one of the best managers in the world (even better that DrFlugel) ... much better than that McLaren at least

Problem my friend is that England play crap. They have all those talented players and the only one with any heart and love for their country who always plays his hardest is Beckham!

I was rooting for Portugal but im not too sure because at this moment i'm not liking Ronaldo's attitude towards united, i do like Spain though, always thought they were decent but always miss out. I don't like Germany or France so as long as they don't win i'm not too bothered. Gutted England aren't in there, its just not the same.

As I said in Lou's forum I hope Spain get it. I think they won the second ever Euro Champs (where hardly anyone took part) but have never won a thing since.
I'd also expect Portugal and/or Holland in the final.

I want Germany to win it actually, i know they are not widely liked, but the quality of their team, and the attacking style in which they play is brilliant to watch. O, and they have Ballack . . .what more do you want !!!

What a frickin' disaster for Italy.
I've never seen such an awful Italian defence. Toni was a disaster tonight too. Just terrible!!

Will support Italy due to family connections to the country, though after tonight I dont expect them to win.
I still think France will win, providing Domenech lets them attack, attack, attack! Gomis should score tons if he starts but he will pick Benzema (still suspicious of him) and Anelka until Henry is fit.

The Italians looked shit and Donadoni looked inexperienced in his team selection and tactics. After that first half how do you not come out with proper changes!?!?!
Ambrosini preferred to De Rossi is a f'n joke and that from a MIlan fan. I will say I gained alot of respect for the Dutch. 2-0 up and still playing attacking football is something to be admired in a comp like this. If they can only withstand the internal bickering which comes way too often they could do some damage.

I watched them at the U-21 tourney in France a few weeks ago and they looked very good. Some guys that caught my eyes were Giovinco AM (Juve), Abbate RM (Empoli), Montolivo AM (Fior) Boschetti CB (Ascoli actually Milan are rumored to be in for him he looked class)
Problem is these players have to wait so long usually to get their shot at senior level same at club level. Usually the big clubs buy abroad or wait until players are proven veterans in Serie A. Look at when most of the current players made their debuts, often times in their late 20's! Toni is a good example no caps until 27 even after scoring bags of goals at Palermo.

Although in my opinion Calcio is the best football league but I'm not a fan of Italy (national team) and I've never been ... they most of the time play defensive football against strong teams which is not what i like.
Among European teams I like Portugal, Holland and England ... and sometimes Spain ... Spain is one of the strongest teams in Euro-08. but they're not always go0d.
