Golden Globes Cancelled! | Quote: | The Hollywood Foreign Press Association has called off this year's Golden Globes ceremony.
The decision to scrap the ceremony and its traditional after-parties came after top nominees confirmed that they would not cross WGA picket lines outside the Beverly Hilton.
In a statement, HFPA president Jorge Camara said: "We are all very disappointed that our traditional awards ceremony will not take place this year and that millions of viewers worldwide will be deprived of seeing many of their favourite stars celebrating 2007’s outstanding achievements in motion pictures and television."
The HFPA has scheduled an hour-long press conference for 6pm Pacific time on Sunday, January 13 at which this year's Golden Globe recipients will be announced. The conference will be carried live in the US by NBC News; the ceremony was to have gone out in primetime on the network. |

Noooo. The only television I was looking forward to this month with everything else on hold. This is mad, you'd think what with all the money invested in these shows and tv in general that the bosses would have reached an agreement long ago.

Those actors refuse to cross the picket line. This all sucks, nothing to watch at all! I have been watching so much basketball I see it in my sleep. it is all we have to watch now.

Oh me too, we have really missed out, hope they don't cancel the Oscars as well!

I've never watched the Golden Globes which I'm a bit surprised at myself for because I do love a good awards show. For that reason it won't affect me! I like the Oscars, but watch it on a highlights show because the live one is on at stupid o'clock in the morning over here. I'll be sad if that's cancelled. :(
