I've just noticed that quite a few of you are doing exams - well, Tom, Hugh and Alan anyway.

How are they going?

Mine very well so far, Ive had 11 so far, completed all my exams in Spanish, Maths, and English, and im happy with all so far.

Next 2 weeks, I have a Resistant Materials exam. 2 Business, 1 History and 1 science. These may be more tricky,

I have my last one on Wednesday. Missed my one on Friday though through illness so will have to come back in the Summer to sit it :(

They're all going fairly well so far. Some of the subjects have just gotten ridiculous though. Geography had some questions that you wouldn't even expect to come up in CSPE, which only requires a pen and something resembling a brain.

Maths Paper 2, Business and Science are the major ones coming up. Quite a bit of revision to do for all of 'em.

Eugh Business. FFS, the course is ridiculously long. Half of it is common sense but we must be the only country in the EU that teaches accounting on ledgers. I think the rest of the world moved onto Excel about 15 years ago. Can't wait to get it over with, I wouldn't be able to stomach any sort of Business subject for the Leaving Cert.

Geography was a bit ridiculous wasn't it. 'Explain Urban Sprawl' *sighs* Even if you didn't do Geography you could nearly guess.

The best one was the "North - South Divide" One.

It shows a picture of a rich man (North) dropping a coin with the word "Aid" on it into a beggars (South) hat. However, the rich man has a hand under the hat, and is collecting numerous coins from the beggar.

The Question that followed, was a multiple choice tick the boxes question.

Considering I havent done a tap of work all year, and our teacher is an incompetent no-nothing, layabout with a permanent cold(/end rant), It was alright. Paper 1 was grand, 2 a little worse, but fairly ok.

I'm done, well was done last week you only have 4 subjects in a levels so you finish them quite early. I am now off till July thank god, time to get fit now lol.

^ Yeh thank god we finish ours early! It's so unfair you get time off now.....do you start year 13 work again in Septermber or July?
I have to go back tomorrow and start year 13 work which is so depressing! I can't see why they can't give us a long break and let us start it in Sept.....would be so much better that way.

Wooooo, only 2 left for me now, thank god !!!

The 12 that i have had already have been pretty easy to be honest, but i am not saying much before my results come through. Although i have been slightly arrogant and have done about 1 hour revision in total for my exams so far. . .but will need to do quite a bit for physics and i guess french this week. . .and then relax for the summer . . .!!!

We start in July after my trip i go in thursday and we've got a trip to Chessington on the Friday so not i guess. I couldn't go back to lessons all day though GCSEs are so easy compared to A levels, as long as you get 5 a-cs to get into a levels and a c and above in english or maths nothing else matters for universities.

Had 4 exams overall-Business, English Lit, Sociology and Maths. Apart from Maths they all went really well.

Went back today as Year 13 and the common room was way too quiet without the year above us!

^ Haha yeh its the same with my study centre (as we dont have a common room in our school!) its sooo quiet with just us year 12s.
Do you happen to do the Edexcel board for maths so you do core1, core 2 and then decision maths?

Good luck to you all! I am very relieved that our format is different then UK and Ireland, I was not mature enough at that age to take my studies seriously. Keep on the grind I have faith all of you will do well! wink

Ohhh cool! I'm doing mechanics next year in A2.....I'll come to you when I get stuck haha!! God.....it sounds hard.....even the name of it sounds so boring! Are you doing decision maths in A2 or statistics?
I messed up decision maths but I loved the core 2 paper and think I did ok in it.....but saying that I've probably done crap! I managed to get an A in core 1 in Jan which was brill and will help my grade if I did bad in these ones!

Loads of people in my class do pyshics and apparently if you do physics you find it easier as its the same sort of stuff.

Dam....I know I should have done physics as an A-Level!

God, only two more left. TG and Spanish and they should be fine.

I think I'm doing well so far, no paper has been particularly challenging yet. Although religion was a bit vague and the questions were repeated a lot so I ended up waffling a bit. Ah sure feck it, I hate religion anyway.

Any horror stories with exams yet? I've heard of a girl up in Kildare who forgot to hand up the short questions with her history paper and the examiner refused to take it up. She's lost 22.5% already! Horrible.

I'm reading the exam diaries in the papers as well. Have a read of the one in the times, she IS the D4 stereotype. She spends most of the column talking about what she wore to the exam and how she can't wait to get to 'Trinners'. Airhead, I'd love to have shot.
