Last Potter Film To Be Broken Up | Quote: | Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows is to be made into two films, according to a report.
The Mail on Sunday claims that crew members on sixth movie Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince have been informed that the next installment will be released in two halves.
Warner Bros is said to be considering the option because the seventh book in the series weighs in at 784 pages, almost double the length of the earlier novels.
Some insiders believe that the last two movies suffered from having their plots squeezed into two and a half hours.
A source said: "There's so much to fit that the view is the last movie should be in two halves. There is a huge battle when Harry, played by Daniel Radcliffe, takes on Voldemort that needs to be done really well."
Author JK Rowling agreed with the assessment, writing on her website: "It is simply impossible to incorporate every storyline into a film under four hours long."
Guillermo Del Toro recently revealed that he would like to direct the seventh movie. However, the studio is rumoured to be hoping to interest director Steven Spielberg in the project. |

All I can say is thank God. The Order of the Phoenix was so disappointing what with all the parts left out. In fact, a lot of stuff has been missing form films and it's been driving me mad. When was the last time we got proper Quidditch. That thing during the fourth film where they cut out before the match was infuriating. This will definitely be a lot better, I personally don't mind waiting an extra few months for a part two if it means we get more detail.

^I fully agree, after the first couple of films they have cut far too much stuff out, true fans of the books would rather they did it like this I am sure!

My first thought on reading the quote (and not read any of the books) was that it was a cynical ploy to stretch out the movie franchise and eek out more money.
But reading your comments I guess they need that extra time especially in the final story to set it all to rights.

It's definitely a good thing...I have come out of the Cinema in the past complaining that this part or that part was Missing (Much to my familes annoyance..lol)..So completely agree with them doing it this way..WOOHOO..BRING IT ON!

I agree with this idea totally. There's so much to fit in that it would definitely ruin it to try and squeeze it all into one movie, things would certainly end up left out or done hurriedly which would have the potential to ruin it.

I'm really pleased about this! The 5th film was crap as they missed so much out and even the others had stuff missing, so hopefully the film cut into 2 parts will be really good.

They'll have to film both parts of the final film at the same time like Back To The Future 2 and 3 otherwise the climactic final battle will certainly be diluted when Voldemort shuffles on with his zimmer frame to fight a balding, overweight 30yr old teenager.

I think its a good idea. The order of the Phoenix was a let down compared to the book. Hopefully by doing it in two parts they will get all the content in from the book.
