Millionaire kills daughterFull story - here
Tragic certainly but another knee jerk reaction in blaming horror films. I've been a horror fan for years and so far the number of people I've killed stands at zero. This man obviously had deep rooted mental issues and it's all to easy to blame films rather than try and find the true cause of his breakdown.

For him to so suddenly turn on his daughter and beat her to death is appaling, and to blame it on a horror film is a pathetic excuse. I'd have my doubts that he is insane, maybe he's just sick, sick, sick and didn't want to be burdened with a child anymore and saw this as a way out.

I wonder if the movie is going to be banned here now? It hasn't been released in the UK yet, just in America. Has anyone seen it?
I don't think its right to blame an episode like this on a movie, but there are some films out there which promote gratuitous violence, and I'm never really surprised when I hear that they've triggered an incident like this. That said, I'm a big horror movie fan too, and my murder count also stands at zero. I have a tendency to keep away from the movies which are heavy on the meaningless violence and bloodshed.

I think you must already be pretty mentally unstable deep down if a movie triggers a psychotic outburst such as this.
What I don't understand however, is how his wife can visit him every day and discuss with him how they're going to 'restart their lives together'. The man fucking bludgeoned your daughter to death you stupid woman, I don't care what sort of mental breakdown he's having, there is no place to restart your life with him.

^ I agree. I can't understand how his wife can forgive him that. He'll turn on her next.
