Shoot-em-up recommendation?

I'm looking for a 2 player shoot-em-up game for the Xbox 360 that's good.

It needs to be split screen and preferrably a war type game (like Call of Duty, but 2 player simultaneous missions, not just head to head)

I've done Gears of War, but would ideally like the next game to be one where you're fighting humans.

Any recommendations?

Infact the only shoot em up I ever owned was 'pop n twinbee' on the snes!

^ I am useless at gaming but I had this game for PS2 . Red Dead Revolver which was class. it was like the old wild west class and super addicting!

From the digging that I've been doing it appears that Tom Clancy's Rainbox Six is the best shoot-em up for 2 player for the 360.

Call of Duty 4 is suppost to be excellent, especially online play, but it doesn't offer a 2 player mode other than head to head (and you can't even put bots in it!)

For a 360, your best of looking at Call of Duty 4 (the newest and best, but may be not worth it if you arent going to play online) and Rainbow six vegas, a few months older so should be cheaper.

I would reccomend resistance if you had a Ps3, but It hink its only on Ps3.

THose are best if you want realistic war games.

Halo 3 would be best if you like futuristic.

Timeshift is coming out soon and thats set to be a smash, it mixes shoot em up, with controlling time.

Get yourself online and every shoot em up becomes an awesome game. I'm more of a Sony fan boy than X-Box lover and the best shhot em ups for the PS2 include Killzone, Black, Battlefront II & Star Wars Battlefront. Not forgetting Timesplitters and Unreal Tournament etc etc.

PS Killzone 2 will bring the PS3 into a league of it's own. Watch this space.

Yeah I love Killzone I cant wait , and unreal tournement looks good but is it out on PS3?

The star wars battlefront 2 game is actually suprisingly good for those who havent played it.

Timesplitters is funny as hell.

A taster:

What's most impressive about Unreal Tournament 3 on the PS3 is how at-home it feels on the platform. The visuals look great and keep up splendidly, and the action is intense and satisfying. Even with such fantastic options as Warhawk and Call of Duty 4 at your disposal, UT3 is worth a purchase for anyone who likes to shoot guns in video games.
