Shows you just gave up on.You know those shows you followed for a series or two, and then just gave up on? What are they and why did you give up on them? Do you wish you'd stuck with any of them?
I gave up on ER and I regret it. I watched it right up until the series when Carter went off to Africa. I wasn't interested in that storyline, and then Grey's came along and I ditched ER for it. I wish I hadn't though - I see bits of ER here and there and it still looks really good.
I've also given up on Nip/Tuck. It was one of my must watch shows for the first three seasons, but now I reckon they should throw in the towel. Its pretty awful these days.
I stuck with Private Practice for three episodes before I gave it up. Am I missing out?
What about shows you never gave up on even though they were long past their best by the time they came to an end?
For me, Dream Team is definitely one of those, althuogh I missed a lot of the last series (although not through choice).

Noooooo. You shouldn't have given up on ER, it's excellent at the moment. Get back into it at once! It's been a lot better than Grey's for a good while now.
I've only ever seen bits and pieces of seasons of Nip/Tuck and while I thought that the grittiness was good, I never felt hooked into it like I did with other programs.
You're not missing out on anything much with Private Practice. It's just a poor, recycled slop of season one of Grey's. Which is quite a shame considering the fantastic cast they have in it. In fact, the excellent acting is the only thing keeping it going at the moment. Hopefully if it gets cancelled we can have an Addy return to Grey's
One show that I never got into was Lost. I watched the first episode and to be honest it just didn't strike me as watchable. I don't regret missing out on the big phenomenon that it created either.

ER is still pretty good but not unmissable like it was when it had carter, green, doug ross and all the old characters. Greys at its best is better than the current ER at its best in my opinion but ER's entertaining enough for me to keep watching
i gave up on nip/tuck too, i think it was after the second series and have wondered whether its any good these days but not enough to get back into it.
One of the things i missed out on was the new battlestar galactica, a few people have said its good but i've never seen it. Anyone watch it and is it any good?

Carter is due to be making a return though. According to all the rumors that I've heard, and in last weeks episode one of the nurses said he would be coming back in Spring.

I gave up on 24. I used to watch it on BBC, then Sky stole it but they still used to show the episodes on BBC a bit later, so I still watched it. Then all of a sudden it stopped (probably some part of the agreement that BBC get to show it for a bit longer, just a bit late). I now have Sky at home, and at my house for University but I am so far behind I don't watch it.
The DVDs are also ridiculously expensive too!

I've given up on The News.
No good will come of watching the news it's always on a pisser!
I may change my mind if they invent Happy News.

Nooo! 24 is the best show ever, I would never give up on it, I have bought a couple of the DVD's I needed to catch up on the series when I had my daughter!
As for shows I gave up on, ER for the same reason as most on here have said. When DR Ross left, I was gutted he was such a hottie in that show (yes shallow I know). So it has been many years since i watched it.
Another show I hardly catch these days is casualty, I watched this program avidly for years and years and then when Harry left and Selina died I kind of lost interest!

My sister watches that, so I pick up on some stuff. Isn't Harry still in Casualty? He's the one who has a really husky voice and sounds like he's whispering when he talks? Hard to explain, but he has a weird voice anyway!
And yeah 24 is good but I was so far behind I gave up. It seems to have gone on too long too.

^Oh no I love Jack Bauer, it hasn't gone on for too long, I say bring it on!
Yeah Harry came back but I have missed so many episodes and now long term favourite Charlie has left I read the other day

Dream team series 9 and 10. Was there even a 10? Do i regret it? No, i think dream team should regret the end of series 8 because that murdered dream team, the real years were series 4-7 first half of 8. Best series 6, the best cast were series 6, best drama series 6, best ending series 6. All round series 6 was the best ever. So i don't regret not bothering with the end of dream team.
Prision Break, i just cant be bothered now it's moved to sky one as i prefer watching tele in my room and i only have freeview which has sky 3.
I'm a celeb, get me outa here. After Jordan,Peter and Kerry's series it went crap and for the first time i only watched a week in full. The most exciting bit was someone cheating on his g.f and that isn't right.

You should invest in the first three seasons of 24. For those seasons, its the best show ever, after that it lost a bit of quality, and a lot of good characters!

Prison Break-I saw series 1 but then I just never really got into the mood to watch season 2 and to be honest, having seen the trailers for series 3 I am not going to watch it.
Lost-Saw the first two episodes but then over time came to hate it and even though the idea and the subplots they have created sound interesting, I am just way too far behind to start watching now.

Star Trek - DS9. Watched the first couple of series but then for some unknown reason stopped watching. Luckily Virgin Media are showing the entire series from the very beginning on Catch Up TV so I can finally see the whole show.

Derek Thompson is only gone on a break, he's going to be back later this season. To be honest I wouldn't mind if Harry left permenantly, he's been annoying lately. You get back into it. It's been excellent for a while now this series. Abs and Kelsey are getting storylines! The new additions are pretty good too and there's plenty of Maggie

I don't tend to give up on shows, although I have forgotten to watch a couple and then I can't catch up as I don't know what's happened in them.

Yeah I guess it is one of those shows you can pick up again, I didn't realise Charlie might come back, Abs is another favourite of mine and Maggie.
Is Guppy still in it and if so is he off the drugs? I didn't really like that storyline either!

I gave up on 30 Rock for the pure reason it had no ongoing storylineand i got fed up with the randomness of the episodes.
I also watched Californication before it and couldntbe asked to turn the tele over so i watched it. But now its finished i decided to stop watchingit.

No Guppy left. His last storyline with the drugs was a bit depressing alright. Maggie also has an interesting storyline coming up and all the other veterans that haven't had much for the last while. (Tess, Abs, Kelsey and co) so that's a welcome change. Last season was a bit Selena centric, not that I didn't like Selena, I could have just done with a break from her for a while.

I gave up on the original series of Lost because it wasn't what I'd expected it to be. I had it in my mind that it was to be a 'serious' drama about a plane crash, so when things started to get a little odd I just thought no thanks. I think if I'd realised it was intended to be a bit strange I would've been good with it from the get-go. However I got suckered back in for season 2 and have seen it all from there. Still not seen season 1 yet though ha ha!

I just don't think Guppy would be the sort to take drugs, they spoiled his character. Maybe I will catch up with it this weekend, I know most of the characters.
Is Nathan still in it? I hate him!

Let's see I have given up on Private Practice. I dismissed it early and even gave it a second chance but it doesn't excite me and add to that Grey's seems stronge rthan ever, I hope Kate makes it back to Seattle Grace!
Alias I liked in the beginnign series but it really went down hill towards the end.
Prison break is on the verge of getting cut out. How many tuimes can thgey go back to the break out of a facility. i thought it ended brilliantly at the end of last year but this first episode really bored me last night.

No, Nathan left after his and Selena's baby died.
We should probably make a Casualty thread instead of cluttering this one up

I used to love Casulty but I havent watched it properly in ages. I watched the xmas/new years special randomly, when that guy shot those girls in the club but I didn't recognise many of the characters - only Abs and Harry I think! I might try and get back into it.

I gave up on ER years and years ago which I wish I'd stuck with...
I tried to watch Skins and Entourage but gave up on them as I didn't have the time to watch them and found that although I missed the episodes I didn't miss them!
I also stopped eatching Smallville a few years ago as, although the first few series were good, the latter episodes seemed to be the same week in, week out
I watched Dream Team from beginning to end and although Seasons 9 and 10 weren't that good, there were the odd few good episodes and I was glad to see it to the end. Sunday nights at 8pm were usually free for me (as a build up to 24 and Lost from 10).
I always considered stopping weatching Lost as it usually goes flat for a few episodes in the middle, but just as I consider giving up, a good episode happens that hooks me again.
I always find Prison Break to be good and all Sesons of 24 have been excellent with the exception of Seson 5 which went flat for a while
