Super Sunday Big 4 collideLiverpool v Man U
Arse v Chelsea
So it will be a great day of football. I have my own massive match to worry about here as well but what are your predictions then?
I fancy Liverpool and Man United to draw. Both seem to be playing fairly well at the moment and I am guessing 1-1 or 2-2 is a likely result.
Chelsea will get all 3 points I think. Arsenal have really cooled and it is not the time vs a strong Chelski. They didn't look to sharp again vs Steua yesterday

Playing my jokers and have said opposite to you. I think we will edge it, i don't know why it's probably a biased view but i just see us winning 1-2, we will lead through Rooney,Torres will equalise than a goal from Tevez. I had a nightmere we lost 2-1 mind jees lol.
I'm thinking Gooners will stalemate with Chelski, Chelski without Drogba look unlikely to score vs the top 4 and i think yesterdays game with Valenica showed that they will struggle without him unless there is an error in the gooners defender, i think Cech will have a great game as will Terry. If i'm right maybe i should be a psycic

well i will be going to the liverpool game. it will be tight, and it will be a extremly entertaining game. i think liverpool will win it, i dont think they have won there home game in the premiership in over 5/6 years. come on liverpool.
2-1, torres and gerrard to score, ronaldo score for utd.

^ Lol, it so funny a manutd fan predicts 1-2, liverpool fan predicts 2-1 and a neutral picks a draw. I learnt even if we do loose, its where we finish, i mean when we finish i completly forgot we lost to Arsenal twice.

^ I figured it would go that way! lol Honestly though there isn't much between the sides it just takes a moment of magic either way to get the result and all 4 squads have men capable of doing that. Oh and let's not forget those pesky officials which almost ALWAYS affect the outcome.

I wont be able to watch these games but I always find these games dull and rather uninspiring. I am thinking Utd and Arsenal will win. Without Drogba, Chelsea will be poor and Shevchenko isnt good enough now neither is Pizarro.

United vs Liverpool will be close i think and probably a draw or decided by one moment of brilliance. I'd like to think it would be united to win but really it could go either way
I fancy chelsea to beat arsenal, they have quietly done very well under avram grant and the wheels are starting to come off for arsenal, even without drogba, chelsea should beat them

I am probabaly the only Liverpool fan (non-glory hunting) who would say this but i'm expecting (and hoping) that Liverpool would win it 3-0.
Torres and Gerrard would be solid with Babel doing what he has in the past few games, coming off the bench to make the scoreline look sweet with a cherry on top.

^ Norton how come Babel doesn't play more? Evertime he comes on he makes things happen. That is one with benitez I will never understand? He loves Kuyt but I don't rate him too much.

Not too sure myself. I think it's the reuturn to fitness of Kewell (who IMO has been splendid) but then again Babel can play on either side + upfront. :s
I use to rate Kuyt alot during his time at Feyenoord however he hasn't turned out to be the Torres-type of forward we first expected when we bought him. He's more of a defensive midfielder IMO. Don't rate him when he's playing upfront. I think Babel should play there instead.
Babel - Torres
Crouch
That's how Rafa should go along but ... gaah!
|

|
^ Agree with your lineup there. Kewell has been great but I think babel is better as a striker anyway. He has a great eye for goal unlike that Theo kid. Maybe Rafa is just trying to ease him in?

Kewell on the wings with Torres+Babel upfront with support from Crouch would be immense with all the crosses from Kewell. Once Pennant is back then Kewell and Pennant on either side and the front 3.....oh god.
Babel - Torres
Crouch
Kewell - Alonso - Gerrard - Pennant
Finnan - Carragher - Agger - Arbeloa
Reina
Only if Rafa went with that :(
And yeh, i think he's looked better than Walcott despite only just arriving in England. Marco Van Basten didn't call him the "next Thierry Henry" for nothing ;)
And i really do hope Rafa is only trying to ease him in, otherwise Rafa is taking the mickey :\

I have my beer, my remote control and shed loads of food. I am hibernating for a weekend of classic Armchair Sports participation. I love my hobby. I don't care who wins the big games but am hoping for loads of controversy!

^HAHA I must admit I do the same in hoping for controversy in those matches. Especially against Arsenal I love to hear Arsene cry. Although that bogus penalty Chelsea won this year cost me $100 as I had Liverpool.

woooooooooooooooooooo hoooooooooooooo.
I don't know whether i am happy, relived or same as before with the results today.
I am obviously disappointed were not top and wished Chelski done a better job but i know Arsenal, nor are we, going to win every single game to the end of the season, what Arsenal done today was probably made it more of a two horse race than a four horse race(not ruling anyone out but thats how i see it at this happy moment for me). John Terry could miss Chelski games for up to 6 weeks if he does have a metatarsal injury,Drogba is out injured and they will sturggle for goals.
Manutd vs Liverpool, trying to distinguish between were we lucky, or were we just rock solid at the back? Apart from VDS 3 times are defence, Brown could be questioned, was a rock and we know we are a threat going forward so the balance is right. The goal was very well worked and revised, i think more people are critisiing liverpool rather than praising the tatics for the goal.
After that it was Liverpool piling on the pressure, but we didn't concede and have only conceded 8 goals this season, 2 being from Arsenal. Overall i am delighted with the performance, the ref didn't play a bigger role than i thought he would which is great. Anderson, great buy and has settled very well imo he was MOTM but Rio got it. The future is bright from us, if we can get RB and GK sorted i think as a team for future years to come. I'm shocked Rafa didn't start Babbel, apart from a couple of shots from Torres(who i feared the most), theres wasn't much spark and some of the passing was off key.
I am glad the Anfield trip if out of the way, i fear this the most because the stadium's atomoshphere can have an effect on the players but we coped very well, our only away trip to the big 4 is Chelski 26th April.
As a neutral this title season must be great, as a fan is neveracking lol. Come on you Spurs, at least draw with the gooners, that will be my prediction, even though my jokers weren't used the best today.

Bit of an anti climax or what? Scousers v Mancs was rubbish and Cockney Scumbags v Cockney Scumbags was a bit better...just.
At least the Browns are keeping me interested in Sport this weekend.

watched both games and neither were that great. As a United fan i was delighted to win, i said it would be close and just one moment could decide it and so it turned out. Our defence was good, bar van der sar who looked dodgy at times and we got the all important goal in a game of barely any chances
disappointed that arsenal won as i was hoping they might continue their bad run but they are starting to get their injured players back and it will be a close title race. Chelsea offer little goal threat without drogba and will struggle to beat top teams although they will probably still beat lesser ones

I just caught the first half of United v Liverpool. tbh it wasn't too thrilling. From what I saw United were fortunate to be ahead but there wasn't much creativity from either side. Why do these big 4 matchups often turn into snoozefests?
|
Norton
|
Liverpool were unlucky IMO. Babel should have started off.
And another boring top-4 game. There never is any entertainment in these games, don't know why, and the score is always low.
The best bit of the game was the tumbling over of Wes Brown into the dugout as he was trying to stop Kewell from breaking away. :D

I liked the game, i found it quite nervous the only thing i didn't enjoy was our attacking side, but i think i enjoyed it because it was Manutd, i didnt like Arsenal and Chelsea's game.
Thing is with these games your never going to get a higher scoring game because both defensces are bound to be excellent hence why they are a top 4 side.
