Sweeney Todd - Demon BarberBrilliant Brilliant Brilliant. If ever a film could be described as being as mad as a box of frogs it's this one. Whoever decided to make a musical about a mass murdering psycho and his accomplice who turns the victims into pies is a certified genius. It's a simply astonishing film from the sets to the acting to the singing. Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter are amazing but Sacha Baron Cohen damn near steals the film with a superb cameo.
Early candidate for film of the year.

^Was it that good Lou? Didn't the singing spoil it at all and how much singing is there?

Wow, sounds like a must see if Mr. Cipher is that enthusiastic!
The last time he was that up beat was probably when he found out something very nasty had happened to a Frenchman somewhere!

Mrs Q and the mother in law went to see this yesterday and they said it was ok. Apparently Depp has a half decent singing voice. I will be happy to wait until it comes out on dvd from the chinese people at Whitechapel station!

There's a lot more singing than I was expecting but all the cast manage to hold a tune. They're not the best singers in the world but the songs all fit with the feel and look of the film especially when Alan Rickman and Timothy Spall start warbling.

^Oh I didn't realise Alan Rickman was in the film, even more reason to watch it!
