Teen MoviesCrazy, cheesy and generally dreadful plots, but we love them anyway!
What are Dl's favorite teen movies? I'm a fan of the first three American Pies, Not Another Teen Movie and generally the intended to be funny ones.
I was watching Bring It On on Channel 4 last night too, it was a hoot. I love the movies with the really bitchy, horrible teen girls. They're hilarious.
So DL, is it Mean Girls or She's All That?

Oh I love teen movies!! I love John Tucker must die, its so cheesy and precitable but I love it anyway!
Out of Mean Girls and She's all that I'd have to go with Mean Girls - I didn't think shes all that was particluarly that good.
I also like Scary Movie 1,2,3 , I dunno if they count as teen movies or not!!

^ I love Mean Girls! I loved Bring it on too. However, all my really favourite teen movies come from the 1980's - Pretty in Pink, The Breakfast Club, Sixteen Candles, Heathers and Ferris Bueller's Day off are amongst my favourites.
Molly Ringwald is queen on the teen movie by me!

I haven't seen any of the 80s ones. But Molly Ringwald was in Not Another Teen Movie making fun of all the corny lines that the guy says to the girl to win her back after he hurt her by making a stupid mistake.

^ I like Romy and Michelle's High school reunion, plenty of bitches in that movie. Cruel Intentions is another good film (is that classed as a teen movie?). I like American Pie the original but I wasn't really keen on the sequel so I haven't watched any of the others.

Being very old my fave teen movies are the one's that started the whole genre off:
Animal House, Porkies, Lemon Popsicle and then moving up to Mallrats and American Pie 1, I quite like Van Wilder: Party Liaison for some reason although I don't think anybody else likes it on the planet.

I know Penny would like Not another Teen movie as it has an older Molly Ringwald in it!

^ Yeah, I watched it for her appearance at the end. My sister was watching it with me, and sadly the importance of Molly's appearance was lost on her! I lent her The Breakfast Club and Pretty in Pink though, and she loves them both, and now understands the greatness of Molly too.

Animal House and Porkies were the best (I still re-watch them now)
You've also listed some good ones up there funky and pretty much have the same taste as me.
My wife also watches the girly teen movies which I usually end up watching and have to say that they're lots better than chick flicks (stay away from anythign with 'love' in the title!)
I've not seen Popsicle yet, but a few people have mentioned it so I'll have to investigate.
Otherold ones (Fast Times at Ridgemont High and American Graffitti) were also good

I loved the 80's teen movies with the brat pack in them, such as The Breakfast club, St. Elmo's Fire and Young Guns. Of the more recent ones, I like Mean Girls and Freaky friday

Never saw Lemon Popsicle or if I did I can't remember a single thing about it, the original Porkies was very good but Animal House is a teen movie without peer. Chock full of laugh out loud moments ( who can ever forget the scene with the horse in the Deans office ) and some damn fine songs to boot.

Most of these mentioned have been good. I love Teen Wolf as well! Goonies and Karate Kids haven't been mentioned either
