Theo WalcottAfter watching the Arsenal v Steua game yesterday I have more doubts about Theo Walcott. I know he is still young and has time to grow and learn, however strikers even at young ages have that predatory instinct. To me he definitely lacks that and I think he may turn into a disappointment considering his lofty expectations. He is good at getting himself in dangerous positions but his final ball and finishing at the moment is awful. Do you think he will live up to the hype?

I think he has incredible pace!
But I've not seen yet a lot of 'on the ball' ability. As you say Bry he doesn't really seem to know where the goal is. Possibly he could be converted to a winger with all that pace? If he learned how to pass of course.
Arsenal fans wont like this but he reminds me of another striker who was supposed to have great potential but in reality was simply a good sprinter and got moved out to the wing, a certain David Bellion who we mugged Man U over a few years back, we are still laughing about that one on Wearside. Maybe Southampton fans are doing something very similiar right now lol.

Haha Bryan you obviously didn’t watch last nights game!
He is young he is good, the only problem is he doesn’t score, look at Fabregas last season look at him this season, he just needs to score and goals will follow.
One of Arsenals brightest prospects to be honest.

^ He was bright Chris but he squandered close to 10 chances with poor balls or scuffed shots. To be honest he reminds me alot of Lennon at the moment. I think funky is right he seems more fit to be a winger. He doesn't have good goal instincts but his crossing ability has to improve same as Lennon really.

I think he will develop into a winger as his finishing is dreadful but he is one of the more exciting young prospects as he has pace and can beat anyone. If he progresses well and gains a consistent place in the first XI he might well soon be in the the England side again.

A few good games doesn't make any player good. That's like saying:
Person 1: "Titus Bramble isn't good"
Person 2: "He did have a few good games last season though in the Prem"
Overall i think Walcott will improve, but not to the amount where he's been hyped up about.

Don't forget that he is being tutored by Wenger. Agbonlahor couldn't play football to save his life but is the quickest player I have sver seen (and that includes Tony Daley, ex Villa who could run the 100m in10 seconds. SInce O'Neill came in Gabby's football has improved no end. He is good in the air which is something new for him.
I think that Walcott will grow into a Great little player if he stay free of injury.
