Tiger Woods to have surgeryYou could almost hear the silent scream of hallelujah from all professional golfers from around the world when Tiger Woods announced he was taking the rest of the season off to have surgery on a troublesome knee.
All sportsmen go through a period of injury, some comeback as good as they ever were and some unfortunately suffer as a result of their injury.
Do you think Woods will come back and be dominant like he once was?

As a golfer it will be hard to come back as before as it is a vital bodypart for the sport. But ive had knee surgery and continue to play golf so its down to him really the knee wont trouble his play physically just psychologically if its an issue in the future.

This will be his 4th knee surgery now, which is a bit worrisome. The thing is I still think he will be dominant when he comes back (hopefully for the Masters in 09) He may have to alter his swing off the tee to lessen the torque on his knee. His short game is what wins him money anyway, he doesn't need the huge drives to win so I think he will be fine.
Shame though it isn't the same without him in a major tournament

He'll still have enough left to overhaul Nicklaus's record of 18 majors. He's just won number 14 virtually on one leg so I think he will come back as good as ever.
