Lol! Of course Scolari told him to leave.  He doesn't want  Chelsea to have to deal with him next year!

So, does this mean Ronni is really on his way out of Man Utd?  He says he'll announce it in two days!

Meanwhile, UTD have this morning issued a statement saying he's not for sale!

Quote:
A statement on United's website said: "Further to Friday's press speculation about where Cristiano Ronaldo's future lies, the club has moved to reiterate its stance on the matter: United are not listening to offers.

"The club reaffirmed to ManUtd.com on Friday morning that the 23-year-old United star is 'not for sale'."

Quote:
Cristiano Ronaldo has revealed that new Chelsea boss Luiz Felipe Scolari played a key role in convincing him to leave Manchester United.

The Portugal star as much as admitted that he will be leaving Old Trafford to join Real Madrid last night after his Euro 2008 was ended by Germany in the quarter-finals.

"The possibilities are big. In two days, I'm going to announce to the world what everyone already knows," the United winger said after the 3-2 defeat

"Personally, it's something I want, something I've dreamed about since I was a kid. For me, it's a very good opportunity and as Scolari says, it only happens once in a lifetime."

The revelation that Scolari, who will step down as Portugal boss to become Chelsea's new manager on July 1, helped convince Ronaldo to leave his new club's Premier League rivals is likely to enrage United boss Sir Alex Ferguson.

United have been adamant that Ronaldo will not be leaving Manchester and even reported Real to Fifa for what they considered an illegal approach by the Spanish giants.

But it now looks almost inevitable that 23-year-old will depart, and he will meet Sir Alex at the weekend to inform him of his decision.

"I haven't talked to Alex Ferguson yet because of the Championships but now we will talk," Ronaldo added.

"It would be very difficult to leave United but it could be good for both (of us). It's always very difficult but I have to do what I have to do."

Scolari what a snake! I still think he will end up staying in the end. SAF knows he butters his bread. United fans are bitter right now (and rightfully so) but after Ronaldo bangs in a couple goals the first game of the season all will be forgotten.

I dunno.  According to Ronaldo, he's out of there, and I don't see the point in United keeping him if he wants to go.  He's the kind of player who just won't make the effort if he doesn't want to be there.

^ SAF will hold him ransom. Wouldn't it be funny if he was made to play in reserves?

Hummm anyone else find this fishy? Scolari is taking over Utd's arch rivals for the title and he's advising the star player of the main competition to leave?

I've read quotes from Ferguson that the Glazers are prepared to let Ronaldo rot in the reserves if he pursues a move.
There are four years of his contract left, thats a long time in the reserves lol. These contracts are pointless when little twats like Ronaldo want to sign them and then rip them up a year later. I hope the Glazers do punish him but I doubt it.
