Big Brother - what's the facination/attraction

Right,

Lots of people seemed to be obsessed with Big Brother, once again.

Ever since the first two series of it I've avoided it like the plague as it's "been done" and now just seems to put 'numpties' in it to try and create good viewing.

As I've not watched it for ages, am I wrong? Should I watch it? If you do watch it, why do you? If not, why don't you?

I'm just a BB addict and watch every series!
I mean to be honest it's not that amazing this series and the housemates aren't the best I've seen.....but I still watch it!
I think you have to watch it from the beginning to get into it properly but I always find the frist week or so is never that good.....but it does get better.

I'm watching it this year for the first time since series 5. Its a bit boring, but once you start, its kind of addictive. There are some characters in there this year, but also a lot of boring people who don't seem to be getting kicked out.

As for reasons for watching it:

1. There is absolutely nothing else on.

2. I like to see what the girls are wearing.

3. Dale is hot.

4. My natural curiosity (i.e nosiness) gets the better of me and I have to keep tuning in to see if Bex and Luke will get it on again, if Sara will come on to absolutely every man in the house, if we will have a repeat of Fright Night etc etc.

I can't help myself.

I've always watched Big Brother but for some reason I haven't really watched much of this years, I hardly know any of the people in there, perhaps its because I just don't have the time to watch it anymore!

In answer to Penny's points:

1. There is absolutely nothing else on - sometimes less is more

2. I like to see what the girls are wearing - the opposite of this may attract me to watch it more....

3. Dale is hot. - not for me

We just started BB 10 here and as some have mentioned I only watch it because there is absolutely nothing else on TV. I also think it is funny to see how all the people on there think the show will actually make them famous!

Im with Jonny. . .what is the point of watching socially challenged (most of the time) people fighting with each other every 2 seconds ??

I cannot stand the constantness of it. . .yeah, ok maybe like once a week .. . but most of the day, every day . . .too much, can't be dealing with that. . .But yeah . . apart from the girls, who are just like barbie dolls and could not structure a meaningful conversation anyway. . .there is no point watching it :)

My wife told me last night that Beauty and the Geek has been put on hold on E4 until later in the season due to Big Brother...!!!!

Whilst Beauty and the Geek isn't the most popular show (although it does have good eye candy) I don't understand why it's being taken off the air for more Big Brother.... It's already on the box most of the day and BATG started after Big Brother. I wonder what prompted this change?
