Soooo.....has anyone on here been to universtiy?

I'm just finishing year 12 at the moment so have one mor eyear at school and then hopefully I'll be off to uni next autumn! So far I've looked at Southampton which was really nice and I've looked at Reading.....but that uni's quite nearish to me so I'd rather go to one further away. I'm going to look at one thats in a city soon....maybe Birmingham so I can compare them and see which is best. But going to one by a beach does sound so much nicer!

loved it loved it loved it!!!

I'd highly recommend you go.  I graduated about 6 years ago from Leeds Met and it was a right laugh (hard work also).

I applied to Uni on a whim in my last year of 6th form, got in but deferred my start for a year to try full time work in an office out.  I ended up not liking my job and went to Uni the following year.  The best decision I've ever made.

As I lived in Pontefract at the time Leeds was only 25 miles away which wasn't too bad as it was close enough to get my washing done occasionally and not a chore to go home for friends birthdays etc....

Some of my friends when to Uni's in cities and others who went to ones 'in the sticks' and the general concensus was that City Uni's are better.

Which ever Uni you choose I still think that you should go and definately live there regardless of how close the Uni is to your home - DO NOT COMMUTE

Yes I went to a small college here in Ohio it was the best times of my life. I would suggest definitely live on campus, it really is a priceless life experience and helps you mature and find alot out about yourself living without your parents.

In Jan, I had a few options. Go to Uni in Scotland, take a year out.. or go to the US on a probable scholarship for football (I ain't calling it soccer!! tongue )

Seeing as I've not turned 17 yet, I decided I wouldn't move to another country (or more along the lines of my mum imposed it on me!).

I decided against a year out. I'm going to study Law at Strathclyde (it's not too far away from home, a 20min jog away). This means I'm able to get an okay degree and in third year I get to move to America for a year. When I'll be 18/19.... and I get to play my football that way to try and see if it goes anywhere while getting a degree.

I'm looking forward to Uni!!!
